MAY THE LORD ACCEPT OUR SHIPMATES INTO A SAFE ANCHORAGE.
26th December 2011 aged 86.
Its my painful duty to report that a member of the Tyne Branch S/M William (Bill) Dolan, has crossed the bar on the above date, our hearts go out to his family, friends and shipmates and ask the good Lord to deliver him into a safe anchorage, God Bless you Bill.

3rd January 2012, aged 90.
Shipmate Sid Shilling crossed the bar on the above date aged 90 Many in the area will not be familiar with Sid, I first new him when I went to my first area meeting in 1981/82.
Sid and his wife Jean weent around the area as our PRO to many shows and venues recruiting and selling memorabilia, their mode of transport was a little blue mini towing a trailer both packed to the gunnels,how they did it was a mystery I last saw Sid at our Stockton meeting. He was for a number of years an Area Vice President.
Sid was a long serving member of the Ganges Old Boys Association.
Rest in peace old mate,I'll raise a tot to you and the many good times we had together

Ist week Febuary 2011.
S/M R.J.Horner sadly crossed the bar last week,
served in the RN 14 years and was awarded the MBE last year Lieut.Cdr RNVR,and was Chairman of the Sea Cadets Committee.

Leon Monkman, Ex AB(Nav Yeoman).has Sadly Crossed the Bar
Served May 1943 - August 1946 in the following Ships/Estalishments:
HMS Ganges,Victoty,Daedalus,St Vincent,Reading,
Pembroke.Tyler,Dryad,Golden Hind.Anson and Formidable.
Leon had been a member at Harrogate for over 30 years also a Life Member of the RNA.
He had been in poor health for some time eventually going blind and spent some time in Ausrralia recentlt with relatives,He will be sadly missed by his family and all his Shipmates in Harrogate.
God be with you Leon for eternity

Its with regret that S/M Fred S Robson Crossed the Bar on the above date.Fred was born on the 9th May 1922 in Driffield,served in the RN as part of the Russian Convoy Flotilla in WW2 and wore his white beret with pride, He was also a founder member of the Driffield Branch his parting and music composed by himself will be sadly missed by all who new him.

S/M 'Syd'Thompson Sadly Crossed the Bar, a member of RNA Spennymoor & Ferryhill Branch & the Fleet Air Arm Association.He was found at home by concerned friends on Tuesday The 11th he had lain there for a few days.God Bless him.

Shipmates it is with great sadness with the loss of another shipmate at Tyne Branch.
S/M Frank Kerr, crossed the Bar on Satursay 17th December,aged 86.
Frank was also a member of the HMS Cardigan Bay Association, he will be a great loss to Tyne Branch, Shipmate Rest in forever Peace.

4th Febuary 2012 aged 88.
It is with deep sorrow that I report another shipmate of the Tyne Branch has Crossed the Bar,
S/M Thomas (Tommy) Hoy passed away on Saturday the 4th Febuary.
He will be sadly missed by all his shipmates and family and freinds. Rest in Peace Tommy ouy thoughts are forever with you.

6th Febuary 2012 aged 81.
S/m Brian Ainge crosed the bar on theabove date, a member of Harrogate & District Branch.
Ex CPO ERA, served October 1951 - 1953- National Service in: HMS VENGEANCE, A/C Carrier {Sabotage Repairs - 1952} HMS VANGUARD, Battlrship,1952 - 53.
Brian died very suddenly from a heart attack whilst in the shower. He had been a member of the RNA for 34 years and served as vice chairman for many years, having to resign his position due to the ill health of his wife. He was made a Life Member in 2009. He was a valued supporter of the Branch and the RNA in general.
He will be sorely missed by us all.
Rest in Gods Oceans in peace Brian.
His funeral is at Rawdon Crematorium,Leeds on Friday 17th at 1340hrs, members are asked to meet in the car park at 1315hrs.
NO STANDARDS Collection in aid of RNA.

12th February 2012 aged 61.
S/M EX LRO (w) Steve Thomas D095946 sadly Crossed the Bar with a possible heart attack whilst recovering from cancer treatment.
He served 1966 - 1978 in various ships and establishments.
Originally from Mansfield but lived in Scarborough for the last 10 years.
Known by many visitors as he was doorman at the local Conservative Club.
He will be sadly missed by his family, shipmates
and many friend's,
Rest in forever peace Steve our thoughts are forever with you.
